Short
School History
Bernadette Short came to Montreal from her
native Dublin in early 1974 and soon became involved in teaching the
Irish step dances she had learned while growing up. She is not only an
Irish Dance Teacher but is also a qualified Adjudicator, much in demand
across North America.
Over the years the Short school has produced many Canadian and North
American champions and every year sends dancers to compete in the
All-Ireland Championships and The World Championships.
Celtic Grace
Celtic Grace is the name of the performing
troupe of the Bernadette Short Dance School. They perform shows locally
and internationally, satisfying the public desire for progressive Irish
Dance created by the worldwide success of “Lord of the Dance” and
“Riverdance”.
Feis Montreal
Each year the Bernadette Short School of Irish
Dancing presents the annual Ville-Marie Feis (festival) which attracts
over 900 Irish dancers from all parts of Canada and the U.S. The event
also features music, song and Irish Language competitions.
